On-set archival

LTO ARCHIVAL (ON SET TEMPLATE)

This package is for dry hiring of the LTO tape deck to a production, for their own Data manager/DIT to process on or near set.

Pricing as per the template package. Buying tapes from us is OPTIONAL. They are charged as a consumable.

In-house archival

LTO ARCHIVAL (IN HOUSE TEMPLATE)

This package is for when CineArk are processing the LTOs in house, and charging as a service.

Service is charged for the number of shoot days.

Working out tape counts

To work out the number of tapes that are required:

Do they want 1 tape per day or are they happy with multiple days on 1 tape?

Single or dual copy? If dual they will need double the tapes.

If they want 1 tape a day, quote for 1 tape per shooting day.

If they are happy for multiple days to be saved to each tape, you need to ask:

  • What cameras are they shooting with? How many cameras?

  • What resolution are they shooting at?

  • What format/codex are they using?

  • How many hours are they shooting per day per camera? Typically this will be around 2 hours per camera per day

Once these questions have been answered, you need to look up the data rate of the camera to confirm how many terabytes of footage there will be per day.

1 tape is 12TB/12000 GB.

Number of tapes = Number of shooting days x Terabytes of footage per day

Digital dailies

DIGITAL DAILIES (FARFIELD TEMPLATE)

Pricing is £850 per day.

From the sample package:

‘Quote based on processing OCN (Original Camera Negative) and sound up to 240 minutes of Arri Alexa 35 4K (4608 x 3164) OG RAW HDE footage per day. Hourly rate over 4 hours material charged in 20min increments at a rate of £250 hour.

Daily charges are based on a 5-day week. Any 6th day charged at 1.5x standard rate. Any 7th straight day is charged at 2x.’

This price is for 1 unit only. Refer to JM if a production wants the dailies for another unit processed.

For this package we also still need:

  • Stationery

  • Log system for Lab operator to record the amount of footage processed.
